Horizon AU: Twin Flames - Isaac's final armor and weapons variations (Zero Dawn Act). Text transcription under the cut after the images!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
REPOST, EDIT/USE OR FEED MY ART TO AI ISN'T ALLOWED
Edit: Updated some text on the Oseram and Banuk arts.
You can read Isaac's lore here: [LINK]
Will he use those variations in the story? Yes! :D hehe. Also, in this AU only Aloy wears Oseran armor while only Beta wears Carja armor, because Oseran's armor is too heavy and noisy for Beta's stealth strategies, while Carja's armor is too weak for Aloy's melee fighting style.
This AU has an ongoing fanfic! You can read on Ao3: [LINK]
Text transcription:
Ravager's cannon: It gives Isaac the ability to fire rapidly like a Ravager can, but with much more precision. It can also do charged-up shots for more heavy damage. This is the most noiseless ranged weapon from Isaac, allowing the charged shot to be used for sniping. Up to two coils can be equipped.
Stalker Blade Tail: The swiftest and lightest melee weapon from Isaac's arsenal. It's the best pick to fight against lightweight machines and stealth attacks. Its thin shape and ability to spin and move up and down (at an angle of about 120 degrees) can also be used for precision attacks (e.g., to take off machine components or stealth-stabbing humans).
Nora's stealth armor: The natural materials of this armor allow Isaac to camouflage better within the natural landscape. The lack of metal pieces also helps reduce noise while moving. This armor is resistant to shock and ice damage but weak against fire and corrosion damage. Up to three weaves can be equipped.
Thunderjaw’s Disk Launcher: Isaac can use the disks like a Thunderjaw can or launch them at a high speed. It’s not an easy weapon to use, as its recoil can destabilize Isaac if he’s in movement, and it has a very slow recharge, but it’s the heaviest damage dealer from the arsenal. Its firepower can make big explosions and great area damage. Up to two coils can be equipped.
Thunderjaw’s Tail: It is the second heaviest and slowest melee weapon Isaac has, but when used correctly, it can cause great damage to his targets, destroy some types of human constructions, stun machines, and even kill humans on the spot. Its shovel-like shape also allows Isaac to throw objects away (with very poor precision) or even yeet Aloy and Beta to help them reach places or to aid in some fight strategy.
Oseram's tank armor: Made of the best Oseram hard leather and steel, this armor greatly protects Isaac, making him much more resistant to various damage kinds. However, the materials weigh him and consequently slow him down, thus making him sink underwater, and he needs to use more energy for his leaps and high jumps. This armor is highly resistant to corrosion and fire damage but has some weak spots for ice and shock damage. Up to three weaves can be equipped.
Bellowback’ Snout: This weapon is an adapted version of the Bellowback’s ranged elemental weapon for Isaac. It gives him the ability to shoot fire or acid projectiles. It can also be used as a close-range defense weapon; hence, it can be used as a flamethrower or acid jet-like gun as well. Up to two coils can be equipped.
Stormbird’s Tail: Isaac can use this weapon like a Stormbird: an electric whip-like melee weapon, still keeping the shocking damage but in a much smaller range and potency. However, if not used cautiously, the whip can get stuck in places or be grabbed by bigger machines. This tail is also useful for Isaac to balance himself while climbing or walking in places such as metal columns in ruins. Isaac must have this tail equipped to be able to swim underwater correctly.
Carja’s speed armor: The sisters arranged the traditional Carja clothing adornments in a way that makes Isaac more aerodynamic, and the lightness of the materials also helps Isaac run faster, leap further, and jump higher than he normally could. Although pretty, the materials of this armor aren’t made for battle, leaving Isaac vulnerable to all kinds of damage - especially physical damage. Up to three weaves can be equipped.
Scorcher’s Mine Launcher: Aside from the normal mines a scorcher can use, this version of its weapon also has the option to use stick mines. Either version of ammos can be used on battle strategies of timed controlled explosions, as the mines won’t explode until they get hit. These mines have two versions: fire and electric explosions. Up to two coils can be equipped.
Frostclaw’s Front Paw: The closest Isaac will get to “grabby hands” so far. It’s the biggest physical damage dealer but the slowest melee weapon due to its heavy weight. Isaac can not just inflict heavy damage but also use the big hand to grab huge objects and machines way bigger than him. This weapon is so heavy that it may destabilize him during curves at high speed, compromise his balance while climbing, and increase the needed energy to sprint, jump, and leap.
Banuk Power Armor: The Sobecks learned with the Banuk crafting how to improve the energy flow and distribution on a machine. This armor increases Isaac's total stamina energy and reduces the needed charge to sprint, jump, or leap. The improved energy flow also helps increase the damage from Isaac’s melee and ranged weapons. However, the increase in the energy flow makes Isaac heat up way faster if not used correctly. Up to three weaves can be equipped.

Ghost Hunting Vigilantes #2
Ties to: Ouija Board Prompt and Ghost Hunting Vigilantes
A/N: The electric gun thing was inspired by Elton from TFIL Overnight. They used it in one of their videos I just don't remember which and what they called it. Also thanks to @cyber-geist for sparking this follow up idea.
Danny was pressed flat against the wall and floating close to the ceiling. His hands still covering his mouth. What the actual fuck? How prepared was this teen? Sam had made him watch a lot of ghost hunting videos online but none of these 'hunters' appeared and held themselves like Red Robin.
Ancients, he wouldn't be surprised if they also had some Fenton Tools now.
Danny watched how Red Robin was frowning at the screen, the camera was still pointed at him. Once more the Ghost King looked down at himself, feeling for the familiar hum of his powers. He definitely knew he was still invisible.
"It's all a little blurry but I think the SLS Camera is picking something up…" The Teen muttered and Danny watched how the girls wandered over to look at the screen too.
"That's just a bundle of yellow lines. Doesn't even remotely look like a stick figure." Spoiler commented and Danny really wished he could let out a sigh of relief. So the camera was not picking him up. That was good to know.
"That is strange. When I tested it before the background image was still clearly visible but it looks like everything is blurry and static like." Red Robin muttered and Danny couldn't help but suck in a breath when the teen looked up directly at him.
The Ghost King knew they couldn't see him but right now this feels like the teen could. Danny let out the breath he sucked in once the teen turned to the vigilante in blue.
"Hey Nightwing. Could you spark some electricity?"
"What?"
"Your escrima sticks." The teen deadpanned. "Use them and spark some electricity into the air to charge the molecules."
"Why the fuck should he do that?"
"The interference I am getting on the camera is probably because the ghost used up most of its energy with the little music stunt it pulled. So to recharge and offer them some energy to keep communicating with us, we will release some electricity into the air. This will also prevent the ghost from attempting to drain any of our batteries or in the worst case our own energy or stamina if you want to say it like that."
What? Danny blinked. Okay he was the Ghost King, yes he had learned from his tutors that there are some ghosts that feed on electricity but most of them had an electric core and as far as Danny knew he was not sucking up battery power or life energy, not a power he had developed…. yet? He probably should ask his former rogue Technus if he knew anything about what Red Robin just said.
While Danny contemplated this the other vigilantes were staring at Red Robin and his explanation and the teen sighed. "Look if you don't want to use them, under the table to your left is a case with a modified stun gun that will do the same."
"We are not giving this Pit Demon power!" Robin declared as he moved to sit in front of the case blocking Nightwing as well as anyone else potential access to it.
Nightwing only shrugged and took out his weapons letting them spark to live.
There was a very hearable sharp intake of air and suddenly the rooms temperature dropped. The vigilantes watched how a sheen of ice spread around the walls and ice flowers started to bloom on the windows and glass like surface.
"What the fuck?!" Red Hood yelled, dropping the controller he was holding and pulling out his guns.
"We didn't invite Mr. Freeze, did we?" Spoiler asked no one in particular, rubbing her arms for warmth. Orphan was taking on a fighting position with her eyes surveying the room. Robin had sprung up on his feed, katana out and ready to fight once more, even Nightwings whose escrima sticks were still crackling with electricity assumed a fighting position.
The only one who appeared unconcerned was Red Robin, his eyes were still glued onto the screen that was still blurry and static like at times. "Hmm they weren't drawing energy front he camera... but now we know that the ghost has temperature changing abilities. I wonder… if I use the integrated heat-vision of our masks...."
"RR not the time to get stuck in your head!"
Danny couldn't breath as he pressed himself further into the ceiling. Green glowing eyes focused on the visible electricity sparking and humming from the blue ones weapons. His entire focus was on that and he hated it.
He had fucking trauma with a capital T. His friends knew that. His siblings knew that. His parents knew that. His former rogues knew that. Ancients. Even Dan had admitted it once to him that he had a similar problem with electricity!
Everything in him screamed to get away from that electric hum, he barely remembered to keep his invisibility up as he sought out the point farest away from what he probably presumed were tasers sticks. He hated how his core trembled and he wanted to do nothing more than fly as far away as he could.
"HEY GHOST FUCKER! STOP TRYING TO MAKE US POPSICLES!"
Green eyes snapped away from the crackling electricity and Danny could only stare at Red Hood who clearly didn't know where Danny was but still yelled profanities at every wall of the room not once moving from his spot though.
"Like yelling at the ghost will work. Anyone happen to have a blow torch on hand?"
"<tt> I told you it's a Pit Demon and now because of Red Robins stupidly we might end up frozen."
"Look how was supposed to know that the Ghost would use the electricity to change the Temperature this drastically? I knew they could change the temperature slightly but not like this!"
"Nightwing stop fucking sparking electricity already!"
"Oh right." The electric hum stopped and Danny felt himself relax slightly. "How do we get out of this? Think we could get B on the coms to bring us something?"
"Isn't he with the Justice League, right now?"
"<tt> You are all too relaxed for this."
"Oh, do you have a better idea than Demon Brat?"
Blinking Danny realized he had frozen over the entire room and that the ice had traveled up to the knees of the vigilantes. Nervously he rubbed at the back of his neck as he let his powers run and told the ice to withdraw from the vigilantes.
-Sorry, I am not got with electricity like that.- The Ghost King apologised in ghost speech sheepishly as soon as that spirit box was no longer covered in ice and his own trauma infused panic had settled down. It was probably better not to let them hear his voice right now.
Red Robin instantly turned his attention back to the SLS Camera Screen only to find it shut down. The cold had messed with something in it, making it blue screen and shut down. The vigilante narrowed his eyes, had the ghost maybe done this on purpose like Robin had said?
"Okay fucking noted. No sparking electricity if we don't want to be popsicles." Red Hood grumbled clearly not happy with what happened as he dramatically stomped with his boots like he was testing if he could feel all his toes.
"Did you die getting electrocuted? That was a pretty strong reaction." Nightwing couldn't help but ask. A little worry as well as curiosity layering his voice.
"Wait didn't Mr. Ghost say last time that asking about how he died is rude?"
"We are not pissing of that fucker any more than we already have." Red Hood decided, crossing his arms, guns still in his hands, while the EMF Meter lay forgotten by his feet.
"This Pit Demon is clearly tricking us. This was an attempt to get rid of us."
"Stop saying that! We still don't even know if it's a Pit Demon in the first place!"
Danny felt a presence appear next to him as he continued watching the vigilantes argue, a little amused as well as still apologetic because of the ice. Carefully he side eyed the presence hoping for all there was that it wasn't who he felt it was only to gulp. Next to him was Lady Gotham and she was once again holding the ghost club in her hands. A new kind of panic settled in the Ghost King's stomach, he slowly started to understand why Clockwork had such respect for this spirit.
"Oh look at the time. It has gotten late. Gotta go! BYE!"
Okay he panicked and once again forgot about ghost speech when he opened the portal home right next to him to escape her first swing but in his defense: That spirit had a mean swing that rivaled all the females of his family when they had the Creep Stick at hand and were pissed.

Whumptober 8 - Sleep Deprivation
---
"You alright there mech?"
"Huh?" Blaster fire temporarily interrupted the opening dialogue Jazz had started, but another Autobot distracted whoever had been shooting, allowing the saboteur to focus on the mech a few yards away. The sight of the Decepticon second-in-command should have made his energon run cold, but at the moment, Jazz figured a gust of wind could defeat the seeker, let alone himself. Red optics were flickering as he looked out blankly at the battlefield below them, hunched over instead of standing tall as he usually did with his wings drooped in a clear sign of exhaustion. "Begone with you."
"Normally, I'd do that, but you're lookin'...rough." Starscream scowled, making an irritated trilling noise when his processor seemed unable to find the words to insult the Autobot. "...huh."
"Just...go away and be heroic or something." Starscream waved, grumbling something when Jazz remained where he stood.
"You look like you need a good recharge or five." While his blaster remained out, Jazz lowered the gun after glancing back at the battle, looking back when Starscream decided standing was too hard and sat on a nearby pile of rocks.
"When you're coming up with 85% of the battle plans while simultaneously researching various energy sources on this accursed planet, recharge is simply not an option." The seeker hissed, wings hiking up for a moment before drooping again. "I hate this place, I hate not having energon, and I hate every single mech here."
"Then ol' Buckethead is a damned aft fer makin' you go on a raid when you're so recharge deprived." The saboteur frowned, flickering optics glancing at him in surprise before Starscream looked away in a huff. "Well, I can fix that for ya, at least for a little while."
"How, precisely, do you intend to do that?"
"Oh, easy, like this!" Starscream felt the other mech shoot him before he could cycle his optics, his systems flashing in warning before he felt a forced stasis cycle take hold, dragging him into blissful recharge. He'll find out later that Jazz had stunned him, taking the seeker "hostage" after Megatron fled as usual and turned him over to Ratchet. The medic nearly blew a gasket when he took one look at Starscream, not even Wheeljack was able to calm the bot when they returned to the Ark so he could work on the sleeping mech. It wasn't the first time he'd fixed up a member of the opposing faction before, but oh boy Megatron was in for the reaming of his life when he eventually called Optimus, wanting their supposed hostage back.
Instead, Soundwave conveniently couldn't cut the call off as Ratchet lectured him for over three breems on proper recharging habits, his infamous wrench glinting in the corner of the screen as Optimus and the others watched on in amusement.

The PAL GUN
(Transcript of a Palworld weapon concept)
Preface
As of recently, the way that your Pals are summoned had been changed. While originally the Pal Sphere is aimed and thrown into an area to make the Pal appear, the newer method instead summons the Pal next to the tamer. More than likely this is meant to be a workaround summoning method due to a legal dispute with Pokemon, and it's currently unknown if this will be the default from this point forward.
Regardless, there are many people that dislike the alternative, as tossing the Pal Sphere helped the Pal focus attention on tasks or foes once it has been summoned. It's difficult to direct the Pal after immediate summoning, and having them appear a distance away from you can help with certain attack strategies which are currently not possible with the newer summoning method. I have thought about the situation, attempting to make an alternative method to summon Pals that would address some of the concerns.
While I'm no legal expert on such things, I wanted to at least offer some idea that could be a little more distinct...and perhaps a little more impactful.
The PAL GUN Aggressive Summoning Weapon
Crafted as a weapon, the Pal Gun basically takes the long-distance summoning of Pals and amps it up slightly. Selecting your desired Pal as usual, you aim the Pal Gun at a living target within its firing range, and if the reticle lights up, you fire the Pal Sphere at the target with great speed. The target will be stunned/ragdoll upon the impact, and the Pal you chose will appear near the target to further engage in battle. The target will be focused on the newly-summoned Pal, allowing you to make your next move separate from the confrontation.
The Pal Gun will function this way if: A. You currently have no Pal summoned B. The Pal you currently have selected is not the one you already have summoned (firing the Pal Gun will make your currently-summoned Pal disappear, so be very careful about that)
Aspects of the Pal Gun have some similarities to the Grapple Gun; it only functions as intended if it is fired at applicable living targets (humans and Pals), and has a recharge timer so the gun can't be fully abused, though upgrades could be possible that could shorten this recharge timer or increase the firing range, or both.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Details to Consider
The Pal Gun is intended primarily to be an alternative summoning method, being more aggressive and covering greater distances than the current default. But it may be possible to give it an alternative usage as a "ping" tool for your Pal. If your Pal is selected and summoned, the Pal Gun could possibly be used on targets from a distance, and "firing" at them will instruct the Pal to approach them and do whatever they need to. As a possible extension, the Pal Gun could recognize certain resources as targets (wood, stone, etc.) and direct the current Pal to cut or mine, etc.
The impact of the Pal Gun is mainly meant to stun on contact, with possible damage being a lower priority. (Admittedly part of the idea stems from certain tag-team fighting games, where your partner would enter the fray by dive-kicking into the opponent.) If damage is decided to be a more major factor, things to consider when deciding how much damage it would inflict would be either the type/size of Pal being fired or their current level, among other things.
One other thought would involve what could happen if aiming and firing the Pal Gun at your current Pal. For example, if you highlight a different Pal and fire at your current summoned one, it could just swap their places at that very spot. If your current Pal is the highlighted one, it may just call them back, or it could be a way to issue orders or even choices of attack to them.
Conclusion
The Pal Gun was primarily designed to address a new situation introduced in newer developments of Palworld's gameplay. With this alternative summoning method, it can allow certain abilities lost before to be possible once again, while offering a few new twists that can still make the tool useful and distinct. And with some potential secondary uses, it could even be considered a handy item to have even if the initial summoning method is brought back into the game.

Black Mesa - Interloper
Black Mesa Interloper is actually good, the 'I got bored and decided to make this' rant.
So like... you jump through the Lambda Core teleporter and are greeted by this absolutely stunning skybox in Xen, and towering in the distance is the Nihilanth's lair, the 'Interloper Tower' as I like to call it. And you spend a good couple of hours moving your way slowly across Xen towards it.
Until you're finally standing at the base of this absolutely massive megastructure. Journey less than half over because you've still got to climb it.
And the god damn chapter makes you feel that climb. That's always something I've felt HL2s Citadel lacked, its like 8 kms tall in lore but it does not feel like anything other than a skyscraper, which after towering over you for much of the game is so anticlimactic. Like yeah the Super Gravity Gun is nice but the tower don't feel like the behemoth its supposed to.
Interloper does, and it is glorious. It's a slog as you slowly push your way up, as the Nihilanth throws all these forces at you trying to stop you from ascending, and you're burning through your ammo until, when you're close to running out, you come across the Gluon Gun recharging crystals and it goes wild. The tower itself is an absolutely amazing bit of worldbuilding too, it's like a massive living organism with technology sewn into it, enslaved by the Nihilanth to produce Alien Grunts like everything else in the factory.
And you climb, and climb. Reach the elevator and ascend, you can feel Nihilanth's desperation as you get closer. You're hurting, and tired and running on fumes but its a battle of wills between the two of you as to who will crack first.
Until you, at long last triumph, and are standing at the top of all that, overlooking everything you've come through over the last third of the game, conquering the tower. The catharsis of this moment would simply not have worked if the tower was half that height. Without the struggle the payoff is nothing.
This chapter is good, and I only wish the Citadel was like it. Imagine getting stocked up by Barney right before entering the Citadel, only to slowly burn ammo ascending through the Combine's manufacturing plants, going up past Striders and weapons and up to ships. And then hitting the confiscation field just as your ammo is hurting. And then bam, Super Gravity Gun. And then the catharsis of finally reaching the top and knocking Breen of the pedestal you've fought tooth and nail all the way up.

R&R: Russian Relaxing
There lies a vessel amidst the endless sea of red. Inside that ship is a group of four, drinking and laughing, all except one. A woman by the name of Czarveta Rain. While everyone was talking she sat there quietly thinking to herself. These people were so comfortable. How? She felt so tense, she didn’t have any interesting ideas to add to the conversation. Even when she did she could never find a good place to cut in. So she just sat in silence, half listening and half trapped in her own thoughts. Those thoughts that always rose up in her mind in these types of situations, they make her want to hide away, they tell her about how much better that would make her feel. It was getting overwhelming. It was either stay here and let those thoughts become steadily worse until she was finally excused or stand up and just leave. She picked the latter and made her excuses. “I’m sorry… I need to leave. Just to be on my own for a bit.” She left before any of them could respond.
The three left at the table, William, Charlotte, and Quinn sat there in stunned silence for a minute before Charlotte broke the silence, “Should we go after her?” William smiled in an effort to calm the others, “No. like she said she needs a break.” He gave a slight chuckle. “I bet she worked up all her courage to come sit with us, reached her social limit and had to go recharge. It’s best if we take turns seeing her and if she comes out of her shell then welcome her with open arms!”
Czarveta quickly strode back to back to her workshop. Her sanctuary. A place to distract herself from her own problems and fix others but today it seemed she couldn’t do that. This problem had to be solved now, the shame of just leaving these people she was indebted to was too much. She had to repay their kindness somehow. But how? She couldn’t just go up to them and ask what they needed. There must be a way to get their requests and not talk to them. Like a suggestion box, yes. Exactly that. A way to do engineering and benefit her crew at the same time without interacting with anyone.
With that the metal bound Russian woman took her electrical saw to cut then nail together a small wooden box. Why wood? She just preferred cutting it instead of making it out of cardboard. Making it like this took longer and let her use the bigger machines. The teeth of the saw slicing through the chunk of wood was so satisfying. It was small things like this that she reveled in. After it was all together she took a small knife and cut “Czarveta’s project box” onto its side and screwed it into the wall in the outside hallway.
William sat up from his seat, turning over to his companions before he left, “I’m gonna go check on the Russki.” He went down into the hull, making his way to the maintenance room of which right outside he saw the wooden box on the wall. Reading its text made him give a small smile. Seemed Czarv had found her solution. He walked back to his quarters and wrote a small note on a piece of paper then returned to put it on the box.
Later in the day Czarveta reached inside the box and pulled out a note with “Gun closet vending machine” written on it. Seeing this made her smile, this was the captain’s doing without a doubt. With her new task in her mind she strode over to the captain’s weapon’s closet to map it out. As she studied its interior she noticed firearms and weapons she’s never seen before. Some futuristic, some completely barbaric. Still, the project shouldn’t be difficult, make a robotic arm to grab and present whatever was imputed. Like the captain had said. “A vending machine”. Simple but useful.
In her quarters Charlotte sat on her bed, mind swirling with thoughts of her new companion. She had barely known anything about her but William’s constant empathy was extremely contagious. Soon enough these thoughts overwhelmed her and she stood up to find her captain. She opened the door to his room but found it empty but she did notice the weapons closet was open. She approached, calling out to him “Willy? What are you doing in there?” Her questions doubled when she met eyes with Czarveta installing some machine inside. Charlotte spoke, trying to hide her surprise, “Miss Rain? What are you doing here? William is very protective of his weapons. He won’t be pleased that you’re snooping around in here.” Czarveta turned her attention to Charlotte with a blank expression on her face and responded in a monotone manner. “I have clearance to be here, Lady Peacock. This was requested anonymously in a suggestion box I set up. I apologize if I surprised you while you were looking for the captain.” Charlotte gave a smile in an attempt to calm her tone. “Oh, I see! And please dear, just call Charlotte.” She sat on her knees to match Czarveta’s eyes level who was similarly on the floor. “So what are you working on?” Czarveta responded in turn, “To put it simply it’s a weapons vending machine. Simply press which one you want and a robotic arm will hand you the selected weapon. I’m considering adding automated maintenance.”
Charlotte nodded, following along as she listened. “My my, that sounds very complex, tell me, where did you learn all this?” Czarveta answered as she inserted a screw, “As I child I had access to the largest library in the country due to being a royal. Growing up I spent uncountable hours there. Most things there were non-fiction. Manuals, guides, and the history of things. Seeing all these amazing inventions inspired me to create and maintain my own. I fell in love with machines, tools and problem solving. It was like solving physical riddles.” Charlotte giggled suddenly provoking Czarveta to ask; “What? Why are you laughing?” in a shocked and annoyed tone. Charlotte calmed her laughter and responded, “My apologies dear, I just find it enjoyable to see you be so passionate about your interests.” Czarveta blinked rapidly in her confusion, if she still had the ability to, she most likely would have blushed, “Alright.”
Charlotte stood up, “Well, I’ll leave you to your work, show me and Willy when you’re done, okay?” Czarveta regained her composure, “Of course.” She continued with her work, imputing code, assembling the arm, and mapping out the dimensions of the closet. Soon enough everything was completed. She got up to gather William and Charlotte. They stood in front of the closet in amazement, Czarveta let a smirk slip, pride filling her as they admired her craftsmanship. William suddenly placed his hand on her shoulder, the action causing her tense a bit, “Nice job Czarv! Mind showing us how it works?” She walked over to the machine, motioning him to follow. “Simply say the weapon you want selected or press the corresponding incon on the screen.” William did as asked and leaned in front of the screen to make his request. “Sadie.” The machine took in his words and did nothing. Charlotte giggled, “The actual name. William.” William huffed in annoyance and spoke to it again, “Double barrel sawed-off shotgun.” The robotic arm responded to his words and reached to grab then hand him his gun. William admired the weapon in his hands then redirected his gaze to Czarveta. “Pretty nice! Though it’d be better if it knew what I called them.” Czarveta responded, the pride that was in her tone had been replaced by her monotone, flat one, “It can’t read minds and neither can I. You’ll have to tell me your silly nicknames for your weapons later. I shall be returning to my chambers.” Noticing her chance leaving, Charlotte called out to Czarveta, causing her to turn her to turn head as she was leaving, “Wait!” Her voice returning to a calm and soft tone, “I’m very glad you did this, it will make William very happy.” William joined in as he realized Charlotte’s intention. “Yeah! You did great Czarv! Thanks!” A small but warm smile crossed Czarveta’s lips, “You’re welcome.”

Reposting from DW an "edit" of that one "what if the Doomslayer was a transformation for Doomguy" post
In a nutshell: The Doomslayer is a "form" that the Doomguy can reach at times.
I was thinking of videogame characters with “forms” (Mario with power ups, Super Sonic etc) and wondered about Doomguy.
(specially if he ever got into some sort of crossover where you'd base his main moveset around UAC focused stuff and then switch to the Slayer/Sentinel form as some type of buff or "super form")
At first, you’d just give him power ups like Berserk and Invulnerability and have him with glowing eyes etc.
But i thought of something else: What if the Doomslayer was a “form” of the Doomguy?
This is also considering other stuff:
* Most posts i wrote about stuff like if DE had expansions where you play as either an ARC soldier or Sentinel warrior, as a way to explore weapons/items/etc within the themes of UAC and Sentinel. All of that gameplay related stuff in different settings.
* Maybe how Hugo Martin almost treats the Slayer like a superhero. And some superheroes are known for having alter egos.
* Something like Heretic’s Tome of Power.
* A way to please both sides of the fanbase: Those who think Doomguy is better as an imperfect marine that still struggles while the others love that Doomguy became a demigod feared by Hell.
Imagine a Doomguy that still works for the UAC and has a lot of UAC guns and tech but can at times turn into a Doomslayer form where his weapons, armor etc change to resemble Sentinel stuff.
Maybe it could require him being angry enough or some sort of artifact/power up but it’d be like a more powerfull form that can be activated in certain circumstances and probably less common than his UAC state.
It could include both filling a "rage meter" and finding an artifact with the mark of the Slayer, so you can go from "the one UAC marine that didn't die" to "the one and only Doomslayer".
And to go back to the old UAC form: You have to die in this Slayer form, but when that happens, you're invulnerable for a while, unleash some wave thing that hurts nearby demons and your health/armor/ammo reaches the top so it can be a bit fair since you're in theory going back to a weaker form.
They’d both have large, diverse arsenals and a way to make it work is to consider how stuff worked over the games and even specific upgrades and runes in 2016/Eternal.
One is more “tactical” while the other is more “upfront, brutal”.
This also fits the “you gotta earn the power fantasy” statement from Hugo: You can be the Slayer as long as you’re good enough; Or else, your Slayer form “dies” and you go back to a less powerfull but still capable Doom marine.
(maybe this could fit with that idea i had of a buff system for demons where they get new attacks or "evolve" to variations like a Manc becoming a cybermanc, Imp becoming a Prowler etc)
I even have some ideas on how this could play out:
Armor
UAC armor works like classic Doom (minimizes some damage) while Sentinel armor is like 2016/Eternal (prevents damage from affecting health until it’s over).
Sentinel armor also receives less damage from stuff like slime and lava.
Design-wise, the UAC armor has covered arms while the Sentinel armor has exposed arms.
Inventory
UAC guy does not have the equipment launcher and even if he carries a lot of different types of inventory items, they are limited like ammo.
Frag Grenades are basic and look like Doom 3’s. The grenades also don't explode on impact against enemies but can at least stun them.
Also has the Hologram and maybe some other UAC tech from 2016 Multiplayer.
This means he can at least be “tactical” while the Slayer form is more “upfront” and brutal.
Slayer has equipment launcher and the items obviously recharge over time.
Maybe the Frag Grenades get to explode on contact with enemies.
There’s also the Flame Belch, Ice Bomb and maybe some new items.
Instead of a Hologram, he gets a ghostly copy of himself that can fight even if limited.
On the subject of weapons, the UAC weapons are magically replaced by Sentinel weapons when you become the Slayer.
And the same is true for the opposite if you lose your Slayer form.
Also, weapon switch is a bit faster as the Slayer.
Fists
UAC guy has basic fists, maybe he could have like a third punch that is stronger than the first 2, if he had a continuous punch attack.
Slayer's fists deal a bit more damage.
Chainsaw/Crucible.
UAC guy has the chainsaw, maybe make it so the main fire is based off classic Doom and the alt fire requires gas to instakill for ammo.
And even then, you can only instakill fodder demons.
Slayer has a Crucible (Still a chainsaw like in some of those concept artworks) that has both a more complex melee system and can instakill enemies at the cost of ammo.
Pistol.
UAC guy has the cut Eternal pistol with the “burst” alt fire and use of bullet ammo.
Slayer has a Sentinel theme version of the infinite ammo pistol from 2016.
Combat Shotgun
UAC gets a basic shotgun with some forms of Explosive Shots and Charged Burst
Slayer’s shotgun has Full Auto and Sticky Bombs.
Super Shotgun
UAC guy’s SSG is basic, its alt fire is shooting the barrels individually.
Slayer obviously gets the Meat Hook.
Rifle
UAC guy could have like an okay-enough Precision Bolt and non-upgraded Micro Missiles
Slayer’s rifle has a very upgraded Precision Bolt and Micro Missiles.
Also, even though this overall concept was made before TDA's announcement, we could make it so these bullet based weapons shoot skull shards, inspired by the Skull Crusher.
Chaingun
UAC chaingun has wind up before/after firing.
Alt fires are a Turret Mode that slows you down and its Energy Shield is not upgraded.
Slayer’s chaingun has no wind ups.
Both Turret Mode and Energy Shield are upgraded, while the latter can deflect enemy attacks.
Rocket Launcher
UAC rockets are shot at a slower pace like in later games.
Lock-on Burst only allows one rocket at a time and Remote Detonation doesn’t have upgrades (except maybe that flare that is triggered when a rocket is nearby a demon).
Slayer’s rockets are shot at a faster pace like in classic Doom.
Lock-on Burst can lock onto multiple targets at once and shoot multiple rockets accordingly, while Remote Detonation’s blast can falter enemies.
Plasma Rifle
UAC Plasma Rifle has that classic Doom “recoil”.
Heat Blast only works at the front like Eternal’s while the Stun Bomb is there.
Slayer’s Plasma Rifle doesn’t have that “recoil”.
Heat Blast can both attack all directions and temporarily buff projectiles while Microwave Beam can split to target multiple enemies and its blast stuns nearby enemies.
Gauss Cannon/Ballista
Gauss Cannon seems more powerfull but it’s a bit slower.
Its blast can also hurt if you’re too close.
Its alt fires are Precision Bolt and Siege Mode.
Ballista still has the Destroyer Blade and Arbalest.
BFG9000
UAC’s BFG is powerfull enough to have that Quake 2 tendril system. but is also like D3 where it can hurt the user if they’re not carefull and requires charging.
Maybe it could share ammo with the Plasma Rifle.
Maybe the Sentinel BFG doesn’t harm the player, has a more unique ammo pool and it also has a version of a Heat Blast to represent that classic Doom tracer system.
Movement
UAC guy can still double jump since those boots are technically UAC creation.
Slayer can dash and jump a bit more, maybe.
One clearly has a bit more access to some level secrets than the other.
Power up interactions
Any power up can stay regardless if you’re either the marine or the Slayer and if you become one or the other during it.
Berserk still heals both.
Berserk can make UAC guy’s fists deal more damage and then lose a bit less damage but still a bit buffed until a level ends.
Slayer’s Berserk is obviously “rip and tear” mode, where you can Blood Punch enemies into health items and even punch living enemies for health.
Blursphere makes UAC guy make it so enemies become innacurate and confused while Slayer becomes fully invisible maybe.
Haste/Overdrive gives infinite ammo to Slayer and maybe the weapon switch is "instant" like Quake 1's.
Invulnerability could make the Slayer deflect enemy attacks whenever he’s hit.
Quad Damage/Onslaught can buff the enemy projectiles you deflect with the chaingun's energy shield when you're the Slayer
Ammo
Maybe a neat detail is how ammo is either UAC or Sentinel theme depending on which state the Doomguy is in.
Story?
In this version of the setting, the UAC made some discoveries about the Sentinels as if they always existed on Earth during medieval times and were forgotten in history.
Doomguy stumbles upon something that made him the Slayer, as if even to this day, the fighting spirit of the otherwise long gone Sentinels was still alive and looking for someone to carry the torch.
There's also stuff like the UAC being very interested in Doomguy having this form, even though he knows they want to exploit him in some way like doing experiments on him.
Anyway
Most of this stuff is copypasted from a Tumblr post of mine but with some edits.
And it also comes from what i keep saying about how Doom is fun to reinterpret.
I also assume that this could work for a gameplay mod, because it's obviously never going to be official for the series. (maybe)
EDIT: Now i wonder whether or not you could give UAC guy the Tesla Rocket while Sentinel gets the shield saw from TDA...
EDIT 2: Because the concept of a shield reflecting projectiles is present with the Sentinel chaingun, the "throwing the shield" part could be represented by an idea i had: the "Doomerang", a Sentinel boomerang that i once thought of, inspired by the Razor Wind from Turok 2.
EDIT 3: Also just remembered the mod Slayer's Rampage by Endie/MoaDixn, in which you turn into the Slayer by filling up a rage meter. though in that mod, the Slayer seems to be melee focused where in my post, i thought both modes get their expanded arsenals.

Time to answer a question everyone needs answered: how do sparkthrowers/guns work exactly?
I lied no one really needs this answered but I do so here you go!
-----
In the tutorial, Boochbeard warns us of spark throwers, saying: "Careful of those sparkthrowers! They'll stun you into submission-- that's how guns work in the spiral."
(nice forthwall break)
Now this is probably to make the game more kid friendly but obviously I need l o r e so here are my thoughts: ->
The guns shoot sparks of electricity, but how? I personally believe it is through the use of 'lumina crystals.' These are crystals that are charged with storm magic in a mill in Triton Avenue(w101). Lumina crystals cut small, so essentially you can 'socket' them into the gun and take them out once they need to be recharged.
Now if you want a gun that doesn't need a recharge, I assume there are expensive options-- for example, a gun that is enchanted with storm magic.
Okay so everything described here doesn't need bullets, in fact bullets aren't shown due ya know kidz but then
COOL RANCH
there are silver bullets?? How spark come out of bullet??
Anyways since metal is a conductor I'm assuming maybe it's just charged?? Make bullet and spark MAKE SENSE KINGSISLE PLEASE I SWEAR-
-----
Last but not least injuries. Since it is electricity wounds will mostly be burns, but enough electricity can kill a person.
To break it down here are symptoms and what happens during electrical shock:
• Outside Body
Can have visible burns but in some cases you look normal. For a sparkthrower, since it shoots out, I'd assume it'd be mostly burns.
• Inside Body
Moving electrical currents can cause damage to organs/stuff around them and cardiac arrest.
- Symptoms
Headache, loss of consciousness, muscle spasms, numbness/tingling, trouble breathing, vision/hearing issues, seizures, and irregular heartbeat.
<- The shock also has a chance to cause Compartment Syndrome.
-----
Last but not least, handling. Handling a lumina crystal is probably safe as it is in a solid form, but I'd be wary if it's cracked or so.
The most important thing is to not touch the barrel while the sparkthrower is being shot or for some time after. You don't want to accidentally electrocute yourself!

Ok but what is the point of playing as the Lost One?
Boris is pretty standard in running speed and soup consumption. Sammy is slow as a semi truck that has to shit a load of bricks, but he's able to teleport in order to escape in certain areas (from what I remember you can't control where he teleports to and from though so...anyway, it's at least something.)
The Lost One is both slow and, from what I can tell, either has a veryyyy slightly stalled soup consumption rate, or none at all. They seem to have a "lunge" that they can use to gain speed quickly, but it doesn't go nearly far enough to matter, especially when the soup consumption is the same. I don't get what the strategy is. I loaded in to a Projectionist level as soon as I unlocked them (new computer, no saved progress), and despite doing just fine with Boris earlier, I got stranded between miracle stations where there wasn't a SINGLE SOUP STATION and promptly died. Could have been bad luck, but it's no secret that good ol' Norman is markedly faster, and I'm playing as this game's version of Wario.
I'm no game developer, but it seems like a stun-gun with a slow recharge could have fixed the problem easily. I'm still baffled.

Now, let's talk about tanks. One of the most important hero categories in a team. The one who needs to push in to do the most damage so that the Support and Damage are safe to jump in. Now there are a lot of tanks to talk about, and each of them has times when they will be needed. We have Orisa, Reinhart, Doomfist, Wrecking Ball, Sigma, Zarya, D.Va, Junker Queen, Roadhog, Winston, Romattra, and Mauga. Now let's figure out which is the best to play! Orisa remains the top choice even as Overwatch 2 enters its second year, and lately, she's been even more noticeable. She has many tools that make her the best tank in the game. Her javelin toss can stun enemies, stopping whatever they are doing. Plus, her javelin spin can block incoming projectiles, giving her another way to defend herself. Her gun deals good damage, and her ultimate ability hits a wide area, making it great for controlling objectives. But what sets her apart is her hardened ability. It gives her extra armour and, more importantly, makes her immune to crowd control for a short time. Crowd control moves are a major way to deal with strong tank players, so Orisa being able to ignore them makes her tough to handle. She could be better against beam weapons, but it's not such a big problem that you have to switch heroes every time. Now you may also be wondering who has the worst odds out of all the Tanks, and that would be Doomfist. Doomfist still stays at the bottom of the tank tier list, mainly because of two reasons. Firstly, he's hard to play effectively. Secondly, many abilities in the game can easily stop him in his tracks. Doomfist is meant to be used aggressively, leaving your team without much protection while you go on the attack. You have to punch enemies and take them out one by one to succeed. His moves need to be used in a specific order, and if you lose even one, it often leads to defeat. His main problem is that any crowd-control move can interrupt his abilities, stopping his combos and getting Doomfist defeated. When you combine a tough set of moves to learn with a tank that doesn't provide much protection for the team, Doomfist usually isn't a good choice in most situations. My personal favourite Tank to play would have to be D.va, who is in the middle of the list. she faces too many tough opponents to rank high. Her mobility is amazing, her defence matrix recharges quickly, and her D.Va bomb remains powerful if placed correctly. However, her main weakness is her weakness to beam weapons like Symmetra's, Mei's, or Zarya's, which can easily overpower her. Unlike other tanks like Orisa, who have trouble against beams due to their defences, D.Va's only defence move, the Defense Matrix, doesn't work against beams, leaving her with few options against them. She's also somewhat easier to take down compared to other tanks, but her high damage output and ability to counter Pharah and Echo by flying up to attack them make her a solid choice. Still, be prepared to switch if you encounter hard counters. But still, I believe that she is one of the most fun tanks to play if you play her well, even if other people do not agree.

Mr Nelson what's the difference of regular moves and field moves?
-@safrina-shards
First: Nelson's the Spheal, and she's a girl. My name's Speck, and I'm they/them! I'd prefer if you used "Mx.". I know, the blog name is a little confusing. No hard feelings though! Nelson insisted it was named after her though, she likes confusing people. I'll probably dive into her name origin in another post.
Second: Regular vs Field moves! Sometimes it can be a little complicated to explain, so I'll try and keep it as simple as possible.
The simplest to explain is Fly. Normally, a small Pokémon like a Pidove wouldn't be able to carry a full-sized person, right? Well, if that Pidove knows Fly, then it would know how to properly and safely carry a full-sized person. (Though it wouldn't be the most practical) If using Fly, I recommend using a larger flying type.
Cut is pretty similar in technicality to Fly. Having a knife is different than KNOWING how to use a knife. For example, a Scyther. One that doesn't know cut would have a difficult time cutting down a small tree. It could take many tries for it to take it down. If it knew Cut, it would be able to take the tree down in one, precise Cut.
Flash, as a Regular Move, is used as a quick burst of light to stun a foe. As a Field Move, the Pokémon lets out a constant light, enough to light up the surrounding environment.
Burning as a Field Move is pretty much identical to moves like Ember or Flamethrower, but the Pokémon using it only uses enough energy to Burn only the object, or the Pokémon itself has pyrokinesis and can control the fire so it doesn't spread.
Crush as a Field Move is almost exactly like the move Rock Smash. Not really much to elaborate on there.
A Soak is similar to the moves Water Gun or Hydro Pump, but with attention to the amount of pressure the water is moving at, so to not break the object on fire or surrounding objects.
A Psy Power is just the same as a Psychic or Psyshock, but using it on an object, instead of, y'know, an opponent.
A Tackle is exactly like a, well, Tackle or Strength, but with more of an emphasis on precision.
An Electrify is like a Thunderbolt or Thunder, but with only enough energy to power the device.
A Recharge is very similar to Electrify, but based off of moves like Thunderwave or Nuzzle, using much less energy.
Different powers of Field Moves are simple: if you know the base of the field move, put more power behind it! This takes a lot of skill, as it's hard to have both a strong power behind it while keeping it controlled.
Many competitive trainers learn techniques behind Field Moves, as they can really help with a Pokémon’s control. It is a very useful tool, as even a trained Water Gun can be used in a competitive setting with these techniques!
Your school should have a couple of trained Pokémon with Field Moves so both you and your Pokémon can learn them up close and personal. They will be used in classes over your enrollment in school, and you should be able to ask for additional time with them outside of class!
tl;dr: the difference between Regular Moves and Field Moves is the advanced precision and control behind Field Moves.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is truly an incredible recreation. Just as significantly, it is truly an original, thought-provoking rendition of an iconic Marvel property. After actively playing it, I'd love to delve deep into the stories that gave birth to this diverse cast of characters. And right now, I believe I will, because I've fallen even more in love with this world. Despite the world being flooded with superheroes appearing on screens, it is only in the most recent decade that gamers have been graced with truly original and entertaining games based on comic book qualities. With Guardians of the Galaxy, enthusiasts retain one of the most enjoyable magazine titles available, which can distinguish it from the wildly popular MCU label and transform the vibrant, illustrated universe that it is based on. The very first hurdle the Guardians of the Galaxy needed to manage was differentiating it from James Gunn's vision.
The rapid-fire banter between all five characters in the show is unstoppable. While that word could enjoy a negative connotation, however, I can imagine no other word to fully summarize this. The talks are interspersed with exciting experiences like combat and dogfights, idle walks, and even death-defying experiences. The player's ears are filled with words as Groot can speak his signature, "I am Groot," and Rocket is translating, and Gamora, as well as Drax, are engaged in their precious dialog. These heroes speak, but it never appears objective. Every word, joke, or cruel comment is based on a thought-provoking perspective, which the writers utilized to make the characters more distinct. The dialogue never felt like an overflow of nonsense. This is definitely how the Guardians communicate within their group and with one another. When you discover souvenirs hidden far away in each world, you'll also be able to have further dialogue with other Guardians, which fleshes out their particular roles and backstories and provides quite possibly the most individual connections within the overall game. There are also binary dialogue decisions; frequently, they ask you to choose against one Guardian or the other and make decisions about how precisely to manage an issue or determine what the focus of your team should be. Our website is the best place to buy cheap New PS4 games. The battles are spectacular. People are in control of Quill at all times during every battle and truly feel like the head of the Guardians. Drax and Co. all have their strengths, and they'll also take on battle independently; however, they take instructions from Quill. Each hero offers a certain ability to win battles, whether it's crowd control (Groot) or the capacity to inflict significant damage (Gamora). The way you use their strengths can determine the course of the challenge. In battle, players race through the streets, shooting their guns at enemies and then dodging using rocket boots of Peter. The more Peter is the enemy, the more destruction he will cause. Firing will not last forever because the weapons will eventually overheat, but they can usually be quickly recharged if you hit R2 at the right time. Fans, like Peter, are designed to fight with their minds. Through narrative evolution or ability tips, Peter and the remaining Guardians have four abilities that are unlocked and placed on buttons on their faces. Peter's capabilities can be activated by clicking the left stick. It can be somewhat awkward at times when fighting. The group is activated by pressing L1, focusing on an opponent, pressing an appropriate face button for an individual teammate, and then hammering a distinct face control key that is assigned to the participant's specific skill. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is the perfect example of a Marvel video game that has an array of thrilling episodes and thoughtful junctures. The images immediately capture the viewer's attention with stunning views and vibrant colors ranging from neon lights and the markets at Knowhere to the vast scenery of Lady Hellbenders' Seknarf Nine. In addition to the amazing graphics, there are facial animations.
